The Caldwell County Office of the Fire Marshal conducts all fire and life safety inspections in Caldwell County, outside of the City of Lenoir, and coordinates with the local fire departments to provide fire prevention and education programs in schools. In addition to inspections, the department investigates fires and explosions, plans and coordinates fire protection, completes plan reviews, inspects fire safety and fire protection systems and related emergency response services, provides emergency response and support during specific incidents as well as collects, analyzes, and maintains fire records. Additionally, the department is tasked with the County's Emergency Management Division which plans and participates in the county's homeland security programs and all major incidents, both manmade and natural. The department maintains a strong working relationship with all fire departments, schools, community organizations, and businesses within the county and surrounding areas.
Mission Statement
The Caldwell County Fire Marshal's Office works to preserve and protect life and property from fire, explosion, and natural hazards through the efforts of highly trained and dedicated staff in partnership with the County's other public safety entities as well as the community. This is accomplished through aggressive criminal investigation of fire and explosive incidents, quality fire protection engineering services, support of area agencies in fire suppression, enforcement of the State Fire Prevention Code, and public fire prevention and safety education.
