The purpose of County social media sites is to educate and communicate with citizens and stakeholders about Caldwell County’s mission and work. Any public comments posted on a County site are exclusively those of commenters and not the opinions of the County. The County is required to comply with the law including the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. There may be times when comments are offensive to some people but remain posted if they are legal protected speech. The County has a vested interest in assuring the accuracy and consistency of information associated with its social media sites. False information and comments not protected by free speech will be removed.
