Crisis Intervention Program (CIP)
Individuals and families that are experiencing a heating or cooling related crisis may apply for assistance through CIP. Applications are taken beginning July 1, 2022 - June 30, 2023 or until the CIP allocation is exhausted, whichever comes first.
Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
LIEAP is a federally-funded program that provides a one-time vendor payment to help eligible households pay their heating bills. Households including a person aged 60 or older or disabled persons receiving services through the NC Division of Aging and Adult Services are eligible to sign up for assistance from Dec. 1-31. All other households may apply from Jan. 1 - March 31 or until funds are exhausted.
Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)
LIHWAP is a temporary federally-funded program that helps eligible households afford water and wastewater services. Households can apply for LIHWAP through September 30, 2023 or until funds run out.
United Way
United Way can help during a financial emergency where CIP or WFFA-EA does not apply, or those funds have been exhausted.
